Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled and experienced Auto Diesel Mechanic responsible for the inspection, diagnosis, preventive maintenance, and repair of diesel-powered vehicles. The role ensures that assigned vehicles are maintained in safe, reliable, and efficient operating condition while minimizing breakdowns and equipment downtime.

The ideal candidate should have strong technical knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, fuel and cooling systems, electrical components, and vehicle diagnostics, with the ability to accurately troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical problems.

Key Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose, maintain, and repair diesel engines, transmissions, and related vehicle components
• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance according to vehicle maintenance requirements
• Conduct oil and filter changes, tune-ups, brake servicing, fluid replacement, and other routine maintenance
• Diagnose and repair problems involving fuel injection, cooling, lubrication, exhaust, and air intake systems
• Inspect and repair vehicle brake, steering, suspension, and drivetrain systems
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical and electronic systems, including wiring, batteries, alternators, starters, sensors, and control modules
• Use appropriate diagnostic scanners, testing equipment, hand tools, and power tools to identify mechanical and electrical faults
• Conduct pre-repair inspections and determine the appropriate repair or replacement of defective components
• Test vehicles after repairs to verify proper operation and ensure identified problems have been resolved
• Identify worn, damaged, or potentially unsafe vehicle components and recommend necessary corrective action
• Respond to vehicle breakdowns and assist with emergency repairs when required
• Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, preventive maintenance, parts replacement, and vehicle service history
• Properly maintain and account for tools, diagnostic equipment, and workshop materials
• Coordinate with supervisors regarding required spare parts, major repairs, and vehicle maintenance schedules
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workshop and work area
• Follow established occupational safety, environmental, and workshop procedures
• Collaborate with other mechanics and technical personnel in resolving complex vehicle problems
• Recommend practical improvements to maintenance procedures that can reduce vehicle downtime and recurring repairs
• Complete assigned maintenance and repair work accurately and within established timelines
• Perform other automotive maintenance and repair duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Formal vocational training, technical certification, or apprenticeship in Automotive Technology, Diesel Mechanics, or a related field
• At least 3 years of relevant experience as an Auto Diesel Mechanic, Diesel Mechanic, or similar role
• Strong knowledge of diesel engine systems, including fuel, cooling, lubrication, electrical, and exhaust systems
• Knowledge of transmissions, brakes, steering, suspension, and other automotive mechanical systems
• Proficient in using automotive diagnostic equipment, scanners, testing devices, and mechanical tools
• Capable of diagnosing and resolving complex mechanical and electrical vehicle problems
• Knowledge of preventive maintenance procedures and vehicle servicing standards
• Familiar with applicable workshop safety practices and automotive industry standards
• Able to read and understand technical manuals, service information, diagrams, and maintenance specifications
• Good problem-solving, troubleshooting, and critical-thinking skills
• Physically fit and capable of performing automotive repair and maintenance work
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Responsible, organized, safety-conscious, and attentive to detail
• Must possess a valid Driver's License appropriate for the vehicles that may need to be operated or road-tested
• Willing to be assigned in Metro Manila
