Job Summary

We are looking for a hardworking and detail-oriented Male Public Area Attendant responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, sanitation, appearance, and overall condition of hotel public areas, including guest comfort rooms, offices, hallways, common areas, and other assigned facilities.

The role ensures that all public areas are clean, presentable, safe, and ready for guest use at all times. The Public Area Attendant is also responsible for the proper use and care of housekeeping tools and equipment and for promptly reporting maintenance, repair, or safety concerns.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain the overall cleanliness and sanitation of hotel public areas
• Clean and maintain guest comfort rooms, offices, hallways, lobbies, common areas, and other assigned facilities
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, polish, and sanitize floors, furniture, fixtures, glass surfaces, and other public-area facilities
• Regularly inspect and clean public comfort rooms and replenish toiletries and supplies as required
• Empty waste bins and ensure proper collection and disposal of garbage
• Maintain public areas in an immaculately clean, organized, and guest-ready condition
• Conduct routine inspections of assigned areas and immediately address cleanliness concerns
• Check public-area furniture, fixtures, and equipment for cleanliness, appearance, and proper operating condition
• Report damaged furniture, defective fixtures, maintenance concerns, safety hazards, or other deficiencies to the appropriate supervisor
• Assist in setting up, moving, or arranging furniture and equipment when required
• Properly use and maintain housekeeping tools, machines, cleaning equipment, and supplies
• Check housekeeping equipment before and after use and report defective or damaged equipment
• Use cleaning chemicals according to proper handling, dilution, storage, and safety procedures
• Follow established housekeeping standards, cleaning procedures, and quality requirements
• Respond promptly and professionally to guest requests related to cleanliness and public-area housekeeping
• Coordinate with Housekeeping, Engineering, Front Office, and other departments regarding maintenance and operational concerns
• Observe proper safety procedures and use required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
• Maintain housekeeping storage and work areas in a clean and organized condition
• Complete assigned cleaning tasks within established schedules and quality standards
• Perform periodic or deep-cleaning activities as scheduled
• Perform other housekeeping and public-area maintenance duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Male
• At least High School Graduate or equivalent
• Previous experience as a Public Area Attendant, Housekeeping Attendant, Utility Personnel, Cleaner, or similar role is preferred
• Experience in a hotel, resort, restaurant, or similar hospitality environment is an advantage
• Knowledge of proper cleaning procedures, sanitation standards, and housekeeping practices is preferred
• Familiarity with cleaning chemicals, housekeeping tools, and cleaning equipment is an advantage
• Customer-service oriented with a professional and courteous attitude
• Able to communicate effectively with guests, supervisors, and other employees
• Knowledge of the local language/dialect and basic English communication skills
• Honest, trustworthy, responsible, and detail-oriented
• Physically fit and capable of standing, walking, bending, lifting, and performing cleaning activities for extended periods
• Able to perform physically demanding housekeeping duties
• Able to work independently and effectively as part of a housekeeping team
• Willing to work on shifting schedules, weekends, and holidays
• Able to work efficiently in a fast-paced hotel environment
